  • Melrose Games Update
    • Fundraising goal was unfortunately not met. The PTO has reserves and will be ok however will need fundraising next school year 
    • Ms Julie (a 1st year teacher!) had 100% participation in her class and they will receive a special surprise
    • Principal for the Day Winners: Zuzu (7 people that pledged) & Racer (27 people that pledged — a large amount of donations at smaller amounts)
    • All students received medals (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) for their performance in the day of games and also fundraising
  • Coach Manny
    • Today was signup for 2025-26 Star
      • There is no cap to the amount of participants
      • Older students also have an option to sign up for YS
    • Summer Camp available starting the week after school is dismissed through July 25th from 8-6pm
      • Students must be enrolled in LAUSD this (2024-25) school year to attend

    • SBA Testing
      • Science test (5th graders only) are up 9%
      • Math and ELA scores are not available yet
    • Mr Palacios was voted teacher of the year!
    • Attendance update
      • Plan vacations during school breaks to keep school attendance up
    • Lose a device, pay the price!
      • The district is no longer paying to replace lost ipads
        • Old ipads will be replaced
        • Any ipad that is 5+ years old may be replaced
      • Ipads can be brought home for summer however you will be responsible for the replacement cost of the ipad if it doesn’t come back to school
        • If you would like to keep it at school over the summer, please let your teacher know
      • All ipads will be wiped on June 9th
        • Most student work is in the cloud but projects and photos, etc will be deleted unless backed up
    • LAUSD phone free policy
      • This includes smart watches

        • Attendees who write an essay about what Melrose meant to them are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship
